Resort gardens were stunning. IMO pool access Villas did not warrent the extra money.
Overall the staff, where it is located is close to everything your would need and very freindly staff. The hotel is wonderfully set out with everyone able to have their own privacy and peace if they wished. I would recommend the The Village to others!
If I had one issue it was the fract the lighting was dim so if we wanted to read at night we found that hard due to the lighting.
This hotel is an absolute gem for those who want a quiet place away from the madding crowds, but close enough to be able to go shopping, dining out, etc whenever you want to. I can't think of a nicer place to stay in this price bracket - it is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.
I only had two minor quibbles - I was not so keen on the "bed on a platform" in the main bedroom. I know it is ThaI-style, but it does make getting in and out difficult. Also the pillows were a little hard. The second irritation was the loud disco music during happy hour at the pool. Only the barman seemed to enjoy it.
We like the setting of the room with seperated living room & bedroom. Lots of trees & plants in the hotel, looks like staying in the forest. Staff organised different decoration/flower patterns on the bed after cleaning your room - that gives you surprise.
Pool access, pool bar, kind staff and room design
Quite expensive for the room, as for the Spa
Excellent design both indoor and outdoor, everything made to comfort the guests, wonderful Spa
Restaurant/room service closes at 11 pm
Very beautiful, private and peacefull resort with nice accommodation villa's. Good place to relax and enjoy nice pool area.
Airconditioning was quite loud in living room
Beautiful rooms and pool area.
The staff was very rude and not accomodating. The location was not good, long walk to the beach even though they told me it was beachfront.
The room was very clean, neat and cozy. I liked the smallness of the hotel and the individual rooms as opposed to condo style. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.
Two things can be improved: 1) Internet service – The daily charge for internet was a bit much. Along with that it was slow (compared to true broad band). I like to be in contact with my family when I travel and this made it hard to do. 2) The restaurant – Breakfast was done very well; but when you had individual orders in the evening, well the service was a bit slow and carefree. I think this was because of the more personal nature of the hotel. At least the food was good.
very nice gardens, tranquility, within walking distance but not that close to the beach, large and traditionally decorated rooms
although I had mention during booking that it was for a honeymoon, we didn't have any special treatment as other hotels in Phuket do, with nice flowers (they had , but I assume it was for every client), special towel decoration etc, so that to feel special and different. It was just a bit dissapointing I guess.
I liked the best the relaxational atmosphere. It seemed to me that nobody except me and my wife was in this resort. Good for honeymooners. There is no outside noise and nobody disturbs you.
I didn't like the most of all that children are not allowed to stay in this hotel. When my granddaughter came to this hotel (she was staying in another hotel with her parents) as a guest with her parents to visit us, the staff said that they can not stay here due children are not allowed. I think children are not the pets to say like that.
I think hotel is in the best location of northern karon. A little more to the south - and it would be too close to the lake and sewage ditch which runs around it (you can't imagin the smell!) Walking distance to the beach is real small and amount of mosquitos is not higher than in any other part of Phuket (we checked :) Grounds and landscape are beautiful as well as villa itself. Place mostly suitable for people who want to relax in quiet and peace, for those who search for active holiday I'd suggest Patong in general as Karon night life is almost non existent. You need to keep doors closed as gekkos are trying to get inside :)
Perhaps it's exceptional event but I must mention it - after having dinner in the hotel's restaurant me and my husband got poisoned. The sibas fillet that was served to me tasted really funny and was way over- salted and over-peppered. It is usually done in order to preserve meet when it's not so fresh which implies that cook or kitchen staff knew of the problem but served it anyway! At time I didn't trust my instinct and decided that maybe I'm just being capricious or unable to appreciate the Thai cousin, so switched the meal with my poor husband. Result: lost 2 days of vacation, extra expenses for medical bills, lost ferry tickets... I don't even want to consider the harm done to my body; I'm not very healthy person already. We were so careful while eating outside trying to avoid exactly this situation, and got "stubbed in the back", so to speak, exactly in the place where we should only relax and forget about hygienic dangers! Hence I give minimum rate to staff and services/facilities of the hotel.
The location was very good and it was quite private.
